The xx - “Islands”

I’ve raved about the The xx before, but honestly, I can’t get enough of them. I’m currently on vacation searching endlessly for quintessential beach music and wishing I’d made a playlist sooner. I decided to give The xx a go, hoping they’d embody that perfect summer sound I was looking for, and they so do. There’s something so entrancing about Romy Croft’s voice. She gives depth to the songs in a way that no other female musician could. Her voice is so soothing and sexy. Together with Oliver Sim, the two can do no wrong. The xx is absolutely perfect. Listening to them while soaking up the sun, watching the waves crash onto the shore, and breathing in the salty air is paradise.
