Greg Laswell - “Lie to Me”

I finally got around to downloading the rest of Greg’s new album, and as if I haven’t said it enough, I’ll go ahead and say it again- this album rocks. When I saw him perform a few months ago, he talked about this song, which is by far my favorite off of Take a Bow, and I must say being three feet away from him in a quiet living room while he sang this was beyond amazing. As cliche as it sounds, it really was one of those moments when time stopped, and I was so lost in the song that I could hear and think of nothing else. I live for those moments.

Greg said the song is about being with someone when you both know it’s not necessarily going to work out, but you do it anyway. It’s about getting through the time in between relationships. It’s about convenience.
